The PS 3 game console is one of the 7th generation of video game console that fascinates me so much it never cease to amaze me.
It’s design. Its feature and it’s graphics is something that i can term as being superb, if am allowed to use the word to qualify it. I really commend those people that brought it into existence, they did a wonderful job.

The PS 3 was at inception marketed as PLAYSTATION 3 until september 2009 when it was officially abbreviated to PS3. It happens to be the third home video game console produced by the (computer games giant) Sony Computer Entertainment, and a successor to the PlayStation 2 as part of the PlayStation series.
The PlayStation 3 competes with game consoles like that of Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Nintendo's Wii as part of the seventh generation of video game consoles.
It has a unified online gaming service, this feature is the major feature that distinguish it from other video game consoles, now it has a PlayStation Network, which contrasts with Sony's former policy of relying on video game developers for online play. Thats not its only feature, it’s other major features of the console include its
• robust multimedia capabilities,
• connectivity with the PlayStation Portable,
• and its use of a high-definition optical disc format, Blu-ray Disc, as its primary storagemedium.
• The PS3 was also the first Blu-ray 2.0-compliant Blu-ray player on the market.
November 11, 2006 in Japan was the first time the PS3 was released into the market, in November 17, 2006 it was released in North America and also March 23, 2007 in Europe andOceania.
Two stock keeping units(SKU) were available at launch:
• a basic model with a 20 GB hard drive (HDD),
• and a premium model with a 60 GB hard drive and several additional features (the 20 GB model was not released in Europe or Oceania).
Since then, several revisions have been made to the console's available models.
